Apple has addressed a vulnerability in iOS 17.2 that allowed the Flipper Zero electronic multi-tool to disrupt iPhones, as reported by ZDNET.

The Flipper Zero, designed for interacting with various electronics, could use third-party firmware to employ a BLE Spam app, causing iPhones within a 30-foot range to flood with Apple TV Keyboard popups, effectively triggering a denial-of-service (DoS) attack. This exploit could lock up iPhones until they were manually restarted.

iOS 17.2 also brings improvements to various apps including Journal, Messages, Apple Music, Weather and others, so users are advised to update their devices.
