Apple is exploring the possibility of creating an Apple Watch with a screen that wraps around the wearer's wrist, allowing information to be displayed all the way around.

A recently granted patent titled "Display Module And System Applications" reveals Apple's research into integrating a flexible display panel into the watch band itself. This would expand the display area beyond the traditional watch face, utilizing the available space on both the watch face and the band.

The patent suggests that such a design would offer greater flexibility in terms of adjusting the watch face and band to conform to the user's wrist size. The proposed device features an LED display with driver circuits on the back surface, allowing for a seamless and immersive user experience.

While the focus of the patent is on the wraparound Apple Watch screen band, Apple also mentions the potential for this flexible display technology to be applied to other devices. The patent suggests that wearable, rollable, and foldable displays could be developed using similar technology.

Previous reports have revealed the company's research into rollable iPhones. It's important to note that patents don't always translate directly into commercial products.
