SpaceX achieved a significant milestone on June 12 as it successfully landed a rocket for the 200th time and deployed 72 small satellites into orbit.
The Falcon 9 rocket took off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, marking another remarkable achievement for Elon Musk's space company. The Falcon 9 rocket delivered a payload of 72 spacecraft into space during the mission, dubbed Transport 8.
The diverse range of satellites included cubesats, microsats, a re-entry capsule, and orbital transfer vehicles. The upper stage of the rocket completed its task of deploying these satellites over a span of 24 minutes, beginning an hour after liftoff.
Meanwhile, the first stage of the Falcon 9 successfully returned to Earth, making a precise vertical landing at Vandenberg. This landing was particularly significant as it marked the 200th time that SpaceX has achieved such a feat during an orbital mission.
Since December 2015, SpaceX has been consistently demonstrating the capability to recover and reuse rockets, revolutionizing the space industry.
