There is increasing evidence suggesting that new Macs will be announced this week.

A MacBook Pro with improved wireless capabilities, identified by the model number A2779, has been discovered in the Canadian Radio Equipment List database. According to various sources, the device is yet to be announced, but it could be unveiled today.

Apple's filing for a new MacBook Pro model was recently spotted on Twitter by Wade Penner. The filing was approved on January 11 and references a "product marketing name" of MacBook Pro with an "equipment description" of "laptop computer." The model number listed is A2779, which does not match any current MacBook Pro models.

Additionally, the filing indicates that the new models will feature support for Wi-Fi 6E, which allows for faster and more reliable wireless connections using the 6GHz wireless band. Currently, only the latest iPad Pro models support Wi-Fi 6E and the 6GHz band.

The new iPad Pro supports the fastest Wi-Fi connections with support for Wi-Fi 6E, so users who need fast connections can take their demanding workflows with them everywhere. Downloads are up to 2.4Gb/s, 2x faster than the previous generation.

In order to utilize this enhancement, a router that is compatible with both Wi-Fi 6E and the 6GHz wireless band is needed. Such routers include the latest Eero Pro system and others from companies like TP-Link.

Regulatory approvals like this one are frequently the most dependable signs of a forthcoming hardware launch from Apple. The firm needs to acquire regulatory approval for new devices in several countries worldwide. These approvals are often kept confidential until the products are made official, but this is not always the case.
