Instagram Introduced a New Way to Restore Accounts

Users can ask friends on the social network to confirm their identity to recover their accounts.

Since February 2022, Instagram has been testing a feature that allowed users to quickly restore access to their account: users could ask friends to verify their identity. This feature is now available to all users. To do this, you need to select two friends on Instagram.

Users can complete a survey to regain access to an account if it has been hacked or blocked, if the user has forgotten their password, wants to report a scammer who used their data, or if there are other problems. If there are several accounts, you can choose the one with which you have problems.

Restoring access when an account is hacked is a pressing issue. Users have complained that the social network is slow to respond to such incidents.
