UAE-based marketplace Dubizzle has unveiled a new feature to combat fraud in the UAE. It will verify accounts with a "Badge of Trust" in the form of a blue tick, Arabian Business reports.

Receiving the blue tick will ensure increased buyer confidence and give priority from the support team on platform issues.

In order to verify an account, the user must upload an ID or passport scans and a selfie video to ensure that the user and the uploaded identification match.

The Verified by dubizzle badge is the one of the many steps in our ongoing efforts to combat scams and create a better user journey on dubizzle. We have a lot of other initiatives planned in the near future to take this to the next level and provide an even more comprehensive experience, where users have a lot more research material available before connecting with prospective buyers or sellers on the platform,

CEO of Bayut and Dubizzle and the Head of EMPG MENA said.
