Qatar's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology together with Microsoft has launched the first hyperscale cloud datacenter region.

The datacenter was inaugurated at the event dubbed "Qatar's Digital Journey into the Future," which was held under the patronage of His Excellency Mohammed Bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology. He said:

The launch of the Data Centre is considered an important milestone in the process of transforming the State of Qatar into an advanced and pioneering digital centre in the Middle East and the world. This journey was inspired by the Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to establish a diversified and competitive national economy.

According to the company, businesses of all sizes and industries can host their cloud workloads at Microsoft's Qatar datacenter, delivering enterprise-class reliability and performance.

The Microsoft cloud data centre region in Qatar will support the growth and scale of more than 100 Microsoft partners in the country, as well as global partners looking to establish a foothold in the country.
