The UAE Cybersecurity Council, Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) and the UAE Government Support Department announced the first annual Capture the Flag (CTF) global cybersecurity competition.

The competition aims to create a more secure digital world, so topical challenges in areas such as web exploitation, forensics, reverse engineering, OSINT, IoT hardware, cryptography, networking, mobile devices and steganography have been selected.

Teams of 3 or 5 people can participate in the competition. They will have to register online to qualify, which will take place online on 10 September 2022. Five teams will then be selected to make it to the final.

The final round will take place in person at GITEX 2022. To participate in it, qualifying teams must be physically present with their laptops  from 10-14 October 2022.

Winners will receive cash prizes. The 1st place team will receive AED 35,000, the 2nd place team will receive AED 25,000 and the 3rd place team will receive AED 15,000.

The CTF competition will take place at GITEX 2022, which will be held from 10-14 October 2022 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
