According to a new survey commissioned by Bayt and YouGov, software engineers, doctors, business operations managers and electrical engineers will be the most in-demand professions in the UAE in the next 10 years.

The survey reveals that the country's work landscape is changing and job search patterns are changing under the influence of technology.

The UAE is on a global list of more than 100 countries in terms of overall business skills. According to the survey, 66% of respondents in the UAE believe that digital transformation, automation, artificial intelligence and other technological factors are "likely to change the nature of work in the future". However, more than half of respondents still believe that soft skills such as teamwork and communication will be just as important by 2032.

Computer skills, time management and creative thinking were particularly highlighted by respondents as skills that recruiters will look for in job seekers.

"As the younger generation moves into the job market, the survey statistics clearly show that computer skills, creative thinking and communication will become even more important," Ola Haddad, Bayt's director of human resources, said.
