Microsoft will introduce several new features to Windows 11 over the coming week.

According to the company, these updates will help transform personal computers into “AI PCs.”

“Meet the computer you can talk to.”

One of the most notable additions is Copilot Voice, which lets users summon the AI assistant by saying “Hey, Copilot.”The assistant is designed for natural, spoken interaction with AI.

Meanwhile, Copilot Vision will offer contextual guidance by analyzing what’s on a user’s screen, whether that’s a document in Word, a spreadsheet in Excel, a PowerPoint presentation, or even a video game. It can provide tips, instructions, or suggestions for improving workflow and solving on-screen issues.

Copilot is now integrated directly into the Windows 11 taskbar. A new AI Actions feature in File Explorer allows users to process images and documents quickly, while Gaming Copilot, embedded in the Xbox Game Bar, provides in-game assistance and recommendations.

More new features include:

  • Early testers in Windows Insider and Copilot Labs programs will get access to Copilot Actions, an experimental AI agent capable of completing tasks autonomously.
  • The Copilot Actions AI agent can autonomously book restaurant tables, work with documents and spreadsheets (for example, export text), and perform various tasks in the browser.
  • It can also interact with local files on the system, such as automatically sorting photos or extracting data from PDF files. The agent was first announced in April 2025.
  • Microsoft also plans to test Copilot’s integration with OneDrive, Outlook, Google services, and other platforms to automate data transfers across documents, slides, and tables.
  • The update will also introduce Manus, an AI agent capable of handling more complex tasks—like building entire websites from local files without manual uploads. This feature will be in closed testing for now.

Microsoft’s Chief Marketing Officer Yusuf Mehdi said the company intends to rebuild Windows around artificial intelligence. He described the new direction as the next evolution of computing, where voice commands join the keyboard and mouse as a primary interface for interacting with AI PCs.
