Joshua Browder, CEO of DoNotPay, announced that the robot lawyer would perform its first case on February 22, 2023.
Technically, the process will be as follows: an artificial lawyer via a smartphone will listen to the arguments of the court, formulate answers and report in real time what to say to the defendant. Joshua Browder twittered:
On February 22nd at 1.30PM, history will be made. For the first time ever, a robot will represent someone in a US courtroom.
The DoNotPay app is the home of the worlds` first robot lawyer. The AI-powered tool helps many users to solve their issues, for instance, to lower bills and increase credit limits, to break a lease and fight bank fees. The app contains many AI-generated letter templates, chatbots and tips.
DoNotPay provides a platform for legal information and self-help. Over 2 million cases successfully resolved.
"What we are trying to do is automate consumer rights," Browder said. "New technologies typically fall into the hands of big companies first, and our goal is put it in hands of the people first."
The first hearing of the court of law with the robot will take place on February 22, 2023.
