Elon Musk has posted a breathtaking 4-hour video on social network X, captured from the Dragon spacecraft during the historic Fram2 polar mission. According to Musk, flying in a polar orbit allows the spacecraft to circle the Earth every 90 minutes, revealing rare views of the North and South Poles.
The video, available here, garnered over 19 million views within just a few hours. It features never-before-seen panoramas of Arctic and Antarctic regions filmed from orbit.
The Fram2 mission, launched on March 31, 2025, marked the first-ever crewed flight to a polar orbit. The crew of four civilians spent nearly four days in space, conducting more than 20 scientific experiments — including the first human X-ray in space to study the effects of microgravity on the musculoskeletal system.
The name “Fram2” is a tribute to the legendary Norwegian ship “Fram,” which took part in polar expeditions a century ago. A piece of the original ship’s teak deck was even on board Dragon as a symbolic connection to the spirit of exploration.
