A smart ring Evie designed uniquely for women will provide female users with a full picture of their health by combining health and wellness metrics.

Dr. John Mastrototaro, Movano’s CEO, revealed in the interview promising details that would make the ring Evie competitive in the consumer wearable space.

The ring is currently being beta tested and Movano Health is in the process of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance. The FDA approval will confirm the smart ring credibility — crucial point for medical devices.

“In terms of meeting the FDA standards, we have to do testing to look at the electrical safety and the batteries safety. When you’re wearing a device on the body, you have to do certain toxicology tests for skin sensitization and cytotoxicity. We have to make sure that as we’re developing the device, the materials that we’re using, the chipsets we’re using, and how we’re employing them is all based upon fundamental underpinnings of what the FDA wants to see.”

A mobile app with intelligible interface will secure collected data and enable to check, control and improve user`s state of health. Mastrototaro ensures:

“Because we’re a medical device, as we move the data around, we have to look at the protocols for taking the data from the ring, transitioning it to the app, and from the app to the cloud, then having all the right security in our cloud-like any medical device company would need to have.

There will be no monthly charge for subscription to access many of ring`s health features, unlike the main competitor, Oura ring, on the market, and the total price of the gadget will be under $300.

Made of polished aluminum, the Evie ring will come in 3 different finishes (silver, gold, and rose gold) and in sizes 5-11.

Movano Health's Evie Ring, which is uniquely designed to address women's health concerns, will debut at CES 2023 and will be available for purchase in mid-2023.
