Elon Musk’s xAI has launched the Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini AI models in beta, offering improved reasoning and new features like image generation on the X social network. Currently, access to Grok-2 is limited to Premium and Premium+ users on X.

xAI announced that both models are available in beta, with plans to make them accessible to developers through an enterprise API later this month. The models aim to enhance chat, coding, and reasoning capabilities, with Grok-2 being a significant upgrade from its predecessor, Grok-1.5.

However, early tests by users reveal that Grok’s image generation lacks restrictions, especially concerning political figures, which could lead to misuse, especially with the upcoming U.S. presidential election. xAI has not yet commented.

Additionally, xAI plans to integrate Grok-2 into AI-driven features on X, including enhanced search, post analytics, and possibly AI-powered replies.
