The update will introduce two new features: iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay screen sharing.
iPhone Mirroring allows Mac users to mirror their iPhone's display to their Mac, including interaction with the iPhone, receiving notifications, and drag-and-drop functionality between devices. Here's Apple's info on the SharePlay screen sharing feature:
With enhanced screen sharing capabilities, you can draw on someone’s screen so they can see what they can do on theirs, or control their screen and take actions yourself.
These features were not included in the initial iOS 18 beta but are part of Apple’s plan to gradually add new functionalities throughout the beta testing process.
In addition to these new features, iOS 18 beta 2 will address bugs and make various tweaks to existing features. The update will be available for developers on Monday, with a public beta expected in July. The release will likely coincide with new betas for iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and watchOS 11.
