Microsoft has unveiled a new white version of the Xbox Series X, which will be an all-digital console without a disc drive.
The console, featuring the same internal specifications as the current Xbox Series X, will offer 1TB of storage and be priced at $449.99. This announcement was made by Xbox president Sarah Bond during the Xbox Games Showcase.
In addition to the white model, Microsoft also introduced a special 2TB "Galaxy Black" edition of the Xbox Series X, which includes a disc drive and will be available for $599.99. This model is designed to provide double the storage capacity of the standard Xbox Series X while maintaining the same performance.
Microsoft is also launching a new 1TB Xbox Series S in white, priced at $349.99.
The announcement of the white Xbox Series X indicates that Microsoft has either canceled or delayed the refreshed Xbox Series X model, codenamed Brooklin. This unannounced version featured a more cylindrical design and was also all-digital, as revealed in documents from FTC v. Microsoft.
Xbox chief Phil Spencer hinted at changes in Xbox hardware plans following the leaks, suggesting new developments are in progress.
We will share the real plans when we are ready,
Spencer stated last September.
