iPhone users may soon enjoy AI-generated emojis and greater app customization options with the release of iOS 18, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

In his Power On newsletter, Gurman reports that Apple plans to unveil these features at WWDC next month. The new software could create custom emojis based on user texts, adding a playful twist to messaging.

Additionally, iOS 18 may allow users to customize their home screens more freely, including changing app icon colors and arranging apps outside of the traditional grid layout. This would be a significant change for Apple, offering more creative freedom for users.

Apple's AI integration is expected to extend beyond emojis. Gurman notes that practical AI applications may enhance Safari searches, Siri functionality, photo retouching, and voice memo transcriptions. The update might also introduce smart recaps for notifications and web pages. Apple is reportedly set to announce a partnership with OpenAI to bolster these AI capabilities.
