Google combines AI and cybersecurity with new Threat Intelligence product

This initiative integrates Google's Gemini AI model with the expertise of its cybersecurity unit Mandiant and the threat intelligence platform VirusTotal.

This product helps in two main ways. First, it uses the Gemini AI model to quickly analyze and understand malicious software, like viruses. Second, it translates complex threat reports into simple language so companies can understand and deal with potential cyber attacks better.

With Mandiant's experts and VirusTotal's threat data, Threat Intelligence gives a full picture of the cybersecurity landscape. Mandiant helps not only by monitoring threats but also by advising companies on how to protect themselves.

Google's move into AI-powered cybersecurity follows similar initiatives by other tech giants like Microsoft, which launched Copilot for Security.
