Apple Vision Pro users facing password issues may have to resort to extreme measures to regain access to their $3,499 device.

Reportedly, forgetting the code can be done by visiting the Apple Store or by mailing AppleCare support. Since there is no built-in password recovery method, users are left with few options.

Multiple entries of the wrong passcode can lock the device, requiring Apple to reset the passcode. However, this reset process has a significant drawback: all contents of the headset are erased in the process. Even entering the correct passcode does not guarantee access, as some users have reported the device locking up despite the correct code.

Apple support personnel are equipped with a specialized Developer Strap accessory to help with password resets. However, even with this tool, some users encounter difficulties, which in some cases leads to device replacement.

While the passcode reset process may evolve over time, given the novelty of the Apple Vision Pro, users are left hoping for a more user-friendly solution, preferably through a software update. As the first iteration of a new product category, improvements are expected to streamline the user experience in the future.
