Apple is reportedly exploring the launch of its first foldable device, sized between 7 to 8 inches, with a potential release window between 2026 and 2027, according to sources.

The foldable, speculated to either be a foldable iPhone or iPad model, could replace the existing iPad mini.

While Apple is actively working on an OLED iPad mini, the company is said to be considering various aspects of the foldable's design and specifications. Samsung Display and LG Display have allegedly provided samples of 7-inch and 8-inch foldable panels to Apple, with Samsung being more active in their development.

The foldable's production is expected to involve discussions on ultra-thin glass material, foldable panel cover window, and hinge concepts, addressing concerns about product durability and reliability.

Additionally, Apple is rumored to be working on a larger 20.5-inch foldable device slated for release after the smaller variant.
