Apple acknowledges battery drain issue on Apple Watch, promises fix

Apple has confirmed the existence of a battery drain issue affecting Apple Watch users and is working on a fix via a software update for watchOS 10.1.

The problem, which appears to affect various Apple Watch models, including Series 9 and Ultra 2, as well as older Series 4 devices, causes abnormal battery drain after updating to watchOS 10.1.

While Apple acknowledged the problem in an internal memo shared with Apple Authorized Service Providers, it didn't provide a specific release date for the update. The memo also didn't detail the extent of the issue, but social media posts and online forums have shown reports of rapid battery depletion, with users experiencing the watch running out of 100% charge in just a few hours.

Widespread complaints on platforms such as Twitter, Reddit and Apple support forums suggest that the problem is affecting a significant number of Apple Watch users. Apple is expected to release a software update for those who have experienced the battery drain issue.
