The Image Creator tool has been made available on desktop for Edge users worldwide.

Microsoft has recently made its AI image generator, which is powered by DALL-E, available on desktop for Edge users around the world. The feature, called "Image Creator," is a result of Microsoft's integration of the image generation technology into its Bing chatbot last month. However, this move to make it available on Edge's desktop version would enable a wider audience to use the tool.

When the Image Creator is rolled out, it will appear in Edge's sidebar, where users can access it with ease. To use the tool, users simply have to input their desired visuals or prompts, and the AI technology will generate several images that match their input. They can then download the images they like and use them in any way they need to.

In a blog post published last Thursday, Microsoft stated that the Image Creator feature is designed to help users create "very specific" visuals for social media posts, presentations, or documents. While there have been various ways to achieve this before, the integration of the feature into Edge's sidebar makes it much more accessible and user-friendly. Users can now conveniently ask an AI to generate images while browsing the web and carrying out other tasks.

However, for now, users will have to manually add the Image Creator to their sidebar before they can use it. To do this, they need to open the sidebar, click on the "+" button, and toggle the switch next to Image Creator.

Microsoft's senior director of communications, Katy Asher, stated that the company is "experimenting with limits based on usage patterns and continuing to learn to help us optimize the experience for customers." Although there are no set limits to the number of images users can generate per day, Microsoft is looking to optimize the feature based on how customers use it.

In addition to Image Creator, Microsoft is also adding other useful features to Edge. The Drop tool, for instance, allows users to send files and other content to themselves. There is also a tool called "Browser essentials," which informs users of Edge's efficiency and malware-scanning capabilities. However, the Browser essentials tool is currently only available on early-access builds.
