YouTube CEO Neal Mohan has announced that AI will be a key focus for the platform in 2025, with significant investments in AI-driven tools, including idea generation, thumbnail creation, and automatic dubbing.

The AI dubbing feature is set to roll out this month for YouTube Partner Program members, allowing creators to expand their audience by translating videos into multiple languages without hiring voice actors or localization teams.

Beyond content creation, YouTube is also using AI to regulate AI. The company is strengthening its partnership with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to protect artists, actors, musicians, and athletes from unauthorized use of their voice and likeness. Enhancements to Content ID will soon enable detection of AI-generated visuals and audio.

Additionally, YouTube plans to implement machine learning to assess users' ages and provide age-appropriate recommendations. However, Mohan did not disclose how the system will determine users' ages or address potential errors.
