Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced on Weibo that the company's new generation smartphone production factory in Changping, Beijing will soon be operational.

The factory is designed to be a "dark factory," capable of running 24 hours a day without human presence.

The facility features self-sustaining machines that can collaborate with each other and maintain a dust-free environment using micron-level dust removal technology. Production quality is managed by Xiaomi's self-developed intelligent machines, capable of producing one smartphone unit every second.

Xiaomi has invested 2.4 billion yuan into this factory, which spans 81,000 square meters and is certified as a "national smart manufacturing benchmark enterprise" with an annual capacity of 10 million flagship smartphones. This facility will handle the production of upcoming models like the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and Xiaomi MIX Flip.

Xiaomi has a history of using automation, with its first smart factory in Yizhuang, Beijing, operational since 2019, producing models like the Xiaomi Mix Fold.
