Xiaomi Releases Xiaomi 13 Series with a Camera by Leica and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

New devices will be set for sale on December 14 in Mainland China.

Xiaomi officially released a new line of Xiaomi 13 smartphones. Devices received an updated bright design, the flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a camera by Leica.

The junior model Xiaomi 13 received an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.36 inches. It provides a resolution of 2400x1080 with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The senior model received a display of slightly better quality - 6.73 inches with a resolution of 3200x1440. The maximum brightness of the screens of both models reaches 1900 nits.

New items received optical lenses from Leica. For the main camera, Xiaomi 13 uses an IMX800 sensor (placed in Honor 70 and Honor 70 Pro) with a 23mm ƒ/1.8. Also, the smartphone is equipped with a new Leica telephoto lens with a focal length of 75 mm and optical zoom from 0.5x to 3.2x. For the main camera, Xiaomi 13 Pro will install an IMX989 sensor with a 23mm ƒ/1.9 (placed in Xiaomi 12S Ultra) with a 1-inch matrix.

The flagship 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is responsible for the performance of the devices. According to the developers, the latest provides a performance increase of 37% while reducing power consumption by almost half. The developers claim that the new processor will heat up less and this will extend the service life of devices. It will be complemented by RAM from 8 to 12 GB and storage from 128 to 512 GB.

Xiaomi 13 comes in 4 embodiments:

12GB+256GB at RMB 4,599 (~$660)
12GB+512GB at RMB 4,999 (~$716).

Xiaomi 13 Series will be set for sale on December 14 in Mainland China. The Junior model is available in 4 colors: White, Black, Flora Green and Mountain Blue. The senior smartphone also comes in 4 variants: Ceramic White, Ceramic Black, Flora Green (Ceramic) and Mountain Blue. Xiaomi 13 also offers five special edition colors in limited quantities sold exclusively on Mainland China Mi: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green and Gray.
