Microsoft is set to update its Xbox mobile app on Android next month, enabling US users to purchase and play Xbox games directly from their mobile devices.

This move follows a US court ruling that forces Google to open its Play Store to third-party billing systems, allowing developers more freedom. Starting in November, Xbox players will be able to buy games through the app, bypassing Google's payment system, and immediately stream them via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Xbox president Sarah Bond expressed excitement about the ruling, saying it will provide players with "more choice and flexibility."

Microsoft is also working on a browser-based Xbox mobile store, which will eventually focus on first-party mobile games and in-game deals.
