WhatsApp has started testing a dedicated app for Apple Watch among TestFlight users, MacRumors reports.

The new app lets users read WhatsApp messages directly on their smartwatch screen. It also supports quick replies, message reactions, and voice note sharing.

The app requires a paired iPhone with WhatsApp installed, and at this stage, access is limited to beta testers.

Until now, WhatsApp didn’t offer a standalone Apple Watch app, and the company has not announced when it plans a wider public release.

The arrival of WhatsApp on Apple Watch could significantly boost the device’s utility, particularly in regions where the platform is the dominant communication tool.

Interestingly, Telegram still doesn’t have an official native app for Apple Watch. The feature was previously available but was removed due to technical and policy issues with Apple, and hasn’t been reinstated since.
