Top Hiring Industries in the UAE

A fresh survey by jobs portal Bayt.com and market research agency YouGov reveals the top hiring industries in the UAE that prefer fresh graduates.

The authors polled 1,141 respondents, aged between 18 and 34, from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Jordan, among other countries.

This year, many industries in the UAE are thriving with new career opportunities for fresh graduates. Advertising/ Marketing/ Public Relations (19%), Engineering/ Design (18%) and Banking/Finance (17%) emerged as the most appealing sectors from a career perspective.

However, the list of top hiring industries somehow differs from the fresh graduates' ambitions. Advertising/ Marketing/ Public Relations (24%), Banking/ Finance (14%) and Healthcare/ Medical Services (14%) emerged as the top hiring sectors.

Among all the countries surveyed, UAE residents (63%) are the most optimistic about career and educational opportunities for their generation, compared to other countries in the region.

Furthermore, UAE residents (88%) are the most satisfied with the quality of higher education they received, and 84 per cent of them said that their education has prepared them to work in the industry of their choice.
