The TON wallet has transformed into an encrypted messenger within the Open Network.
While the platform previously allowed users to include text comments with transactions, the latest update now enables users to encrypt messages, ensuring end-to-end security between sender and recipient.
Unlike traditional messenger servers that may fail, the decentralized TON blockchain guarantees the delivery and protection of messages even in extreme scenarios. The encrypted messaging feature offers a reliable and secure method of communication, safeguarding sensitive information.
Users can now send encrypted messages with transactions at an affordable network fee of approximately 0.006 TON, making it suitable for everyday use. This innovative feature not only enhances the convenience of the TON wallet but also strengthens the overall stability and freedom of the digital world.
The new encrypted messaging feature is already supported by standard web, desktop wallets (Windows, MacOS, Linux), and MyTonWallet. Upcoming updates for TON mobile wallets and the Tonkeeper wallet will also include encryption capabilities, expanding access to this secure messaging functionality.
It's important to note that the recipient must have at least one outgoing transaction in their wallet to receive encrypted messages. Additionally, users are advised not to send encrypted comments when depositing on exchanges or payment services.
