Tesla has officially introduced its revamped Model 3, formerly known as 'Highland' project.
The revamped Model 3 showcases a more refined design, featuring a reimagined front and rear end, as well as an all-new interior. Tesla has worked on improving aerodynamics, resulting in extended range and reduced drag and wind noise. Currently, these updates are available for the European rear-wheel-drive and long-range (LR) variants.
The front end of the car is now sharper, with cleaner lines, redesigned headlight housings and expressive LED daytime running lights. The hood edge now has a sharper crease that transitions into the fenders.
The silhouette of the car remains unchanged, but the rear end features prominent "C" shaped taillights and the Tesla name instead of the logo. In addition, there are new color options - Ultra Red and Stealth Gray.
The WLTP range for the updated RWD Model 3 (with 18-inch wheels) reaches 344 miles, while the LR variant boasts an impressive 421-mile range. This marks an approximately 11 to 12 percent increase from the previous models. The EPA figures for the US version may differ.
The refreshed Model 3 interior offers a more inviting atmosphere, featuring a wraparound design with aluminum and fabric elements. Ambient lighting now blankets the entire cabin, enhancing the overall aesthetic. The use of acoustic glass and improved soundproofing materials has made the cabin quieter.
The digital interface has also been updated, with slimmer bezels on the 15.4-inch central screen. An 8.0-inch rear display integrates climate, ventilation, and infotainment controls. Tesla has replaced column-mounted levers with steering-mounted controls, aligning the Model 3 with the Model S and Model X.
Customers opting for the LR model will enjoy a superior audio experience with 17 speakers, three more than before, including two subwoofers and two amplifiers. The RWD version will feature nine speakers, one subwoofer, and one amplifier. Tesla has also incorporated a more powerful microphone to enhance call quality.
Deliveries of the updated Model 3 will begin in late October in Europe and the Middle East, with details on the North American model and availability to be announced soon.
