Tesla managed to resume production in Shanghai despite a strict lockdown imposed by the local authorities, Bloomberg writes, citing sources. At the moment, due to the outbreak of coronavirus in Shanghai, it is forbidden to move around the city, so Tesla employees will live directly at the plant, while observing a number of restrictions.

The situation is aggravated by the fact that the factory does not provide for living conditions, for example, there is no dormitory, so the factory personnel will receive a sleeping bag and a mattress from the management, which can be placed in a specially designated place.

At the same time, plant management is promptly erecting areas for showers, meals and entertainment, but their construction is only in progress. Among the mandatory requirements are a daily PCR test for the first three days, temperature measurements twice a day and hand washing four times a day.

As compensation, Tesla employees will receive three meals a day and an allowance of 400 yuan (about 5,000 rubles) per day. Depending on the position, the amount of the allowance may vary.

It is reported that only personnel from areas with low infection rates and who have received two components of the vaccine will be at the plant. Employees will work 12 hours a day, six days a week with one day off, although the normal schedule is "four in two."

The said regime is planned to last until May 1, but the date may shift depending on the situation and the decisions of Shanghai authorities.
