Telegram unveils major Android redesign

Telegram has begun testing a redesigned interface for its Android app. The update is available in test build 12.3.0 and introduces significant changes to the app’s navigation.

The most notable update is the removal of the traditional side drawer menu. In its place, Telegram has added a floating bottom navigation bar with key tabs: Contacts, Calls, Chats, and Profile.

The new Android design closely mirrors the iOS version of the app. Profile pages have been refreshed with quick-action buttons, while the Settings section now features color-coded icons, making the interface more visually streamlined.

Telegram has not announced a release date for the redesigned interface, but a wider rollout is expected soon.
