Telegram now fully operational in Oman

Telegram’s chat services are now officially available in Oman. The confirmation came from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) during its annual media briefing.

According to the regulator, the chat feature within the Telegram application is open for use across the Sultanate. The statement clarifies the operational status of the platform, which had previously raised questions among users regarding its accessibility.

In recent years, Telegram’s functionality in Oman had been limited, and many users relied on VPN services to access certain features. The latest announcement confirms that the platform’s communication tools are now accessible without restriction.

Alongside the update on Telegram, the TRA indicated that it is preparing new regulations aimed at organizing intrusive advertising messages. The draft regulation is expected to be issued soon.
