Telegram launches auction for Habib Nurmagomedov papakha-themed gifts

Telegram has launched a new auction featuring collectible gifts inspired by former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The sale went live on the evening of November 22.

The new collection centers on Nurmagomedov’s iconic papakha. A total of 29,000 gifts will be available through the auction. Telegram has prepared multiple upgrade designs, including versions styled in the colors of the Dagestan flag.

“The Papakha was never just a hat. It was about where you come from, respect & discipline. It reminds us that true strength comes from tradition, not just power.

These are all things my father taught me, when he passed the Papakha down to me. And now, I’m passing it on to you. Now, anyone can gift the Papakha to a friend, brother or mentor - a way to show respect to where you come from, and where you’re going, exclusively on Telegram. This is my culture. My story. On October 25, Pavel Durov met with Nurmagomedov at the UFC 321 event in Abu Dhabi.

Beyond sports, the fighter had more to discuss with Durov. Nurmagomedov is the global ambassador for Ice Open Network, an alternative Layer-1 blockchain built on the TON Virtual Machine.

In July 2025, Telegram launched a collectibles series with Snoop Dogg. The gifts quickly went viral, and Durov predicted strong secondary-market activity for future collections.
