Telegram Launches $50,000 Video Contest: Prove It's Better Than WhatsApp

Telegram has announced a creator contest with a prize pool of up to $50,000.

Participants have until 11:59 PM Dubai time on May 26 to submit a short video showcasing Telegram's technological edge over WhatsApp.

• The video, no longer than 180 seconds, should highlight how Telegram introduced features that WhatsApp later copied.
• Both on-screen text and spoken content must be in English, as specified in the guidelines.
• Participants are allowed to use AI tools as creative aids and can draw inspiration from the provided materials.

Telegram emphasized that entries will be judged on factors like meme potential and virality:

Clarity, visual impact, meme potential, and virality. Your video should be well-suited for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other short-form vertical formats.

Results are expected to be announced in June.
