Telegram launches its first IRL challenge with a 100 USDT prize

Telegram has launched its first IRL challenge, asking users to clean up the real world rather than do something inside the app.

Participants need to find a place in their neighborhood that could use some attention, whether that means clearing trash from a park, helping a neighbor mow their lawn or doing something else useful for the community. They then have to post before-and-after photos in the comments.

Four of the best transformations will be selected manually, with each winner receiving 100 USDT from Telegram’s Intern Fund.

Participants have 72 hours to complete the challenge. It started on August 11, with the winners set to be announced on Friday, August 14.

The challenge is the first in a series celebrating Telegram’s 13th anniversary. The company plans to run three contests with a combined prize pool of 1,300 USDT, all built around the letter M.

The comments have already produced some characteristically blunt responses from Telegram. When one user complained that there was nowhere suitable to clean up in their city, the official account replied, “broke mentality, get creative.”Asked whether the challenge really had to be completed offline, Telegram simply responded, “go touch grass.”

The company regularly runs community challenges offering both cash prizes and recognition.
