Telegram users will be able to generate new gifts by combining existing ones

Telegram is testing a new gift interaction mechanic. Users will be able to craft gifts and generate new models, with items potentially receiving “legendary,” “epic,” and “rare” tiers for the first time, according to Durov’s Code.

On Telegram’s test server, gifts created through this merging process have already appeared. Instead of a percentage-based rarity system, newly generated items may introduce exclusive tiers such as Legendary, Epic, and Rare.

Sources say that gifts from different collections will likely not be eligible for crafting together. The preliminary model suggests that users will combine several gifts from the same collection to generate a new item, although this information has not yet been officially confirmed.

Telegram has not formally announced plans to launch gift crafting. However, back in January 2025, Telegram founder Pavel Durov noted at an event in France that the ability to combine gifts would be a logical next step in the evolution of the platform’s gift system.
