Telegram blocked over 44 million groups in 2025

Telegram blocked more than 44 million groups and communities linked to prohibited content last year.

The company says its moderation combines user reports with proactive machine-learning monitoring, further strengthened by advanced AI moderation tools.

• 44,085,169 — total number of groups and channels blocked in 2025
• 952,318 — groups and channels linked to CSAM (child sexual abuse material)
• 236,573 — communities associated with terrorism

“Telegram blocks tens of thousands of groups and channels daily and removes millions of pieces of content that violate its Terms of Service, including incitement to violence, sharing child abuse materials, and trading illegal goods,” the company said.
