Telegram has introduced a new AI Editor in its beta version, allowing users to edit messages with built-in artificial intelligence.
The tool appears directly in the chat interface and offers three main functions: correcting mistakes, changing tone, and translating text.

Users can rewrite messages in different styles, shorten them, or turn informal text into a more professional format.
To activate AI Editor, users need to type at least three lines of text. An AI icon then appears next to the input field, allowing the message to be processed and replaced with the edited version before sending. The beta notes that basic access includes a limited number of generations, while Telegram Premium subscribers receive up to 50 times higher usage limits.
The feature acts as a built-in writing assistant for everyday messages, business communication, or content creation without external tools. Currently, the AI Editor is available only in the Android beta.

Telegram’s approach relies on its decentralized Cocoon system. The company previously abandoned plans to integrate Elon Musk’s Grok chatbot after users raised concerns about sharing private messages and documents with AI systems.
Instead, Telegram moved toward decentralized AI, where user messages are not accessible to third parties.

WhatsApp has already introduced a similar feature, expanding its “Writing Help” tool, which analyzes conversation context and suggests message drafts.
