Sony begins testing different prices for the same games in the PlayStation Store

Sony has begun A/B testing game prices in the European segment of the PlayStation Store, meaning the same title may now appear at different prices for different users. The change was first identified by PSprices, which spotted updates in the store’s API.

The experiment covers more than 50 games across 30 regions, including Germany, France, the UK, and Spain. Users included in the test group are seeing prices reduced by 5-17% compared to the standard amounts. The US PlayStation Store is not participating at this stage.

Examples of affected games and price differences include:

• WWE 2K25 — €61.82 (instead of €74.99, 17.6% off).
• Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 — €58.35 (instead of €69.99, 16.6% off).
• Sid Meier’s Civilization VII — €62.63 (instead of €69.99, 10.5% off).
• Kingdom Come: Deliverance II — €62.64 (instead of €69.99, 10.5% off).
• Mafia: The Old Country — €47.35 (instead of €49.99, 5.3% off).

Analysts say Sony is evaluating price elasticity to understand how price changes affect users’ willingness to buy games. The company has not made any official statements about adopting dynamic pricing.
