Sony has officially rolled out a public beta test for cloud gaming on the PS5, offering gamers the ability to stream games at up to 4K resolution.

Players who have received invitations are sharing their early impressions, indicating that the service allows users to select from various resolutions, including 720p, 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p (4K).

The move to 4K streaming not only enhances graphics but also improves image clarity, addressing the challenges of compression that can lead to a loss of visual quality during cloud gaming. Games available for streaming include popular titles like God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Fortnite, and more.

Still of interest are Sony's broader plans for cloud gaming and potential compatibility with the upcoming Q handheld.
