Sepura, a firm based in Victoria, BC, has recently launched its own household appliance that can replace a garbage disposal unit and is designed to be installed under a sink.

Sepura, a start-up company, has developed an innovative waste disposal system that offers a simple and effective way to minimize food waste and promote a cleaner, healthier environment. The system consists of a Bluetooth button that can be placed anywhere near the sink, and a device that sits underneath the sink and is connected directly to the drainage.

Unlike traditional garbage disposals, the Sepura system does not grind food waste. Instead, when enough food waste has accumulated under the drain, pressing the Bluetooth button initiates a process that pushes the waste into the device. The company believes that this approach is better for the environment as it avoids crushing waste and helps to preserve its natural integrity.

In addition to this, the Sepura system has several safety features that prevent any non-compostable items, such as utensils, from entering the device. The system also includes a safeguard that stops water from entering the receptacle and allows it to drain out of the pipe first.

Sepura's waste disposal system is designed to be user-friendly and effective. The company claims that its system can effectively separate 99.9% of solid waste that goes down the drain, providing an efficient way to reduce food waste and minimize its impact on the environment.

To accelerate the production and delivery of its product, the company recently closed a $3.7 million seed funding round. The funding was led by Blanco, a sink manufacturer, which is an appropriate partner given Sepura's focus on promoting sustainable living. The Sepura waste disposal system is expected to cost $700 when it starts shipping in July.

In a recent press release, Victor Nicolov, Sepura's co-founder and CEO, expressed his excitement about bringing consumers the sustainable solution they are seeking and working to improve how food waste impacts the environment moving forward. Nicolov emphasized that Sepura's advanced technology and user-friendly design offer a simple and effective way to minimize waste and promote a cleaner, healthier environment.
