Samsung is working on a new pair of wireless over-ear headphones that could compete with Apple’s AirPods Max and Sony’s premium models.

The device is currently known as the Galaxy H1, according to SamMobile. References to the new model have been spotted in the code of Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app, along with graphics depicting a pair of over-ear headphones.

  • The discovery also confirms wireless connectivity. Other specifications remain unknown, although a flagship model would be expected to offer active noise cancellation, transparency mode and integration with the Galaxy ecosystem.
  • Possible features also include support for Samsung Seamless Codec Ultra High Quality (SSC UHQ), automatic switching between Galaxy devices and integration with AI assistants.
  • The Galaxy H1 could also support Bluetooth 6.0, although the final hardware configuration has yet to be confirmed. The headphones are not expected to launch until 2027, leaving plenty of time for more details to emerge.

In recent years, Samsung has focused primarily on its Galaxy Buds lineup of wireless earbuds.
