Telegram founder Pavel Durov has succeeded in having his judicial supervision measures lifted, according to French media reports, including Agence France-Presse.

According to sources, the restrictions that barred Durov from leaving France and required him to report regularly to a police station in Nice have now been removed.

The reports say Durov “fully complied” with all conditions of his judicial oversight. Bloomberg also confirmed that French authorities lifted his travel ban entirely as of November 10.

What it means

  • Durov is now free to leave France and is no longer required to check in with local police.
  • The investigation into the Telegram founder remains ongoing.
  • The decision to lift restrictions is attributed to his full compliance with previous judicial requirements.

Law enforcement had been examining whether Durov could be considered complicit in crimes committed through the messaging platform. He had initially been ordered to remain in France.

In June, Durov succeeded in having some of the restrictions eased, allowing limited travel to Dubai. The travel ban has now been lifted completely, though the broader investigation continues.
