OpenAI has announced the release of ChatGPT Pulse — a new AI agent mode designed to operate autonomously. The update was detailed in the company’s official blog.

The feature is still in testing but already available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers on the mobile app. Pulse can perform tasks without constant user input, including checking emails and managing schedules when granted access to relevant apps on a smartphone.

The system adapts fully to the user’s preferences. It analyzes interests, messages, and connected app data to deliver a personalized experience.

Each morning, Pulse provides tailored information cards with updates the AI deems most useful for the individual user.

The rollout of Pulse is part of OpenAI’s broader push to develop proactive AI agents. The company aims to create assistants that work independently and don’t rely on continuous instructions.

“The next frontier is agents: AI assistants that can take action on your behalf and work like a team alongside you,” said Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s head of applications.

She stressed that the real breakthrough will come when AI assistants can understand user goals and help achieve them without additional prompts.

In the future, Pulse is expected to roll out to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, with the possibility of it eventually becoming available to free-tier users as well.
