Man recovers lost Apple Watch thanks to Find My app after it survives hours at sea.

Jefferson Rocha, a man visiting the beach town of Búzios in Brazil, thought he had lost his Apple Watch after it fell off his wrist while he was swimming in the sea. However, thanks to the Find My app, Rocha was able to track the device to its location in the ocean.

Though he initially believed it was lost forever when the battery eventually died, he put the watch in Lost Mode and added his contact information. To his surprise, a 16-year-old girl contacted him the next day saying that her father had found the watch while diving.

Benoni Antônio Filho, the diver who found the watch, was surprised that the device was still functional after spending hours in the water. After his daughter charged the Apple Watch, the Find My app message appeared on the screen.

Apple Watch models from Series 2 onwards are fully water-resistant and can withstand up to 50 meters underwater, while the Apple Watch Ultra can withstand up to 100 meters. However, water damage is not covered under Apple's warranty, and users should take precautions while swimming or diving with the device.
