Apple has officially classified the iPhone 5 as an obsolete device. The model has been added to the company’s list of obsolete products on its official website.

This means that Apple Stores and authorized service providers will no longer offer repairs or technical support for the device.

The iPhone 5 was released in 2012. It was the first iPhone to feature a 4-inch display and the Lightning connector. Production of the model ended in 2013.

Apple has also added the 8 GB version of the iPhone 4 to the obsolete list. That model was introduced in 2011 and discontinued two years later. Other versions of the iPhone 4 were classified as obsolete earlier.

After production ended, both devices continued to be sold for some time in emerging markets as more affordable smartphone options.
