Apple’s future budget iPhone 19e may finally receive a 120Hz ProMotion display, according to reports from PhoneArena.

The device is expected to launch in early 2028. If confirmed, it would mark the first time Apple brings variable refresh rate technology to its lower-cost lineup, which has so far been limited to standard 60Hz screens.

The move is tied to Apple’s ongoing work on an updated LTPO+ display technology. The new approach reportedly uses oxide materials to improve energy efficiency and reduce response time.

As usual, the rollout will start with premium devices. The upgraded displays are expected to debut in the iPhone 18 Pro, a new iPhone Air model and a foldable device. Only after that will the technology make its way to more affordable models like the iPhone 19e.

The exact refresh rate range is still unclear, and Apple’s final decision will likely depend on how the new displays perform in flagship models expected in 2027.
