Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro may not be available in black, according to Weibo-based leaker Instant Digital. The leaker claims that Apple is once again planning to drop the traditional black finish from its premium lineup.
If accurate, this would mark another year without one of the most popular iPhone colors. Earlier reports suggested Apple is testing alternative finishes, including a deeper red tone, instead of bringing back black.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also indicated that Apple is experimenting with new color directions for the iPhone 18 Pro models, while traditional options may be limited to lighter or alternative finishes rather than classic black.
Black or space gray variants have historically been standard across iPhone generations, making the potential absence notable for users who prefer more neutral designs.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September 2026, although the company has not officially confirmed color options.
