iPhone 18 Pro may get “Dark Cherry” as its new signature color

Rumors about the color lineup for Apple’s 2026 devices have surfaced online. According to Macworld, a dark cherry shade is expected to lead the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

Insiders shared details of the 2026 iPhone 18 Pro color palette, which includes a new signature finish called “Dark Cherry,” described as a deep wine-red tone.

As sources note, the colors are still in development and could change before mass production, and Apple may ultimately offer fewer than four options for the Pro models.

Apple is reportedly planning to release three devices in September 2026: the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and a foldable iPhone Ultra with a limited color selection and an ultra-thin 4.7 mm profile.

"The information we’ve heard suggests that Apple has been working on a Dark Cherry option to serve as the headline new color for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max", the report says.

According to the same sources, the new shade “will be much closer to wine than fruit punch”.

To illustrate the colors, the authors used Pantone codes that Apple is reportedly testing internally:

• Light Blue (Pantone 2121)
• Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076)
• Dark Gray (Pantone 426C)
• Silver (Pantone 427C)

In practice, the final appearance may vary depending on materials and lighting conditions.

Macworld sources also reviewed CAD renders of the new iPhones. The devices are expected to look very similar to their predecessors, with the main visible change being a smaller Dynamic Island.

Another change may affect the transition between the glass back and the aluminum frame, potentially reducing the gap around the camera module.

The foldable iPhone is expected to feature a more restrained color palette, including a classic silver-white version and an indigo option similar to the dark blue finish of the iPhone 17 Pro.

The iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and foldable model are expected to go on sale in September 2027. Meanwhile, base models such as the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and a new Air variant are rumored to launch in the first half of 2027.
